Frequently Asked Questions and Other Tips

ALL pick ups & drop offs must be through a licensed transportation service; we DO NOT pick up at harbor or airport. For transportation to/from town, you will need to utilize one of the following services:

Rabaca’s Shuttle – (808) 559-0230 – Cost is $10 per person per way & can typically meet day of without reservation (although reservations are recommended). After disembarking from ferry please make immediate contact with agent holding sign reading, “Shuttle to Lana'i City”. Please follow driver’s instructions for shuttle departure on return leg.

Dela Cruz Taxi – (808) 649-8001 – Group rates paid for each leg, *MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE*. Please follow driver’s instructions for taxi departure on return leg.

Lana'i City, HI 96763.  You will meet your rental agent in the parking area outside but you may inquire within the Hula Hut should you need.  Any Lana'i Jeep & Truck Rental patrons will receive a 10% discount to any gift items in the store.

Before leaving the Manele Harbor, it is suggested guests utilize the restrooms directly across the street from the ferry landing. The trip to town is approximately 30 minutes, and services in town can be limited. Please ensure you make contact with your transportation agent as 1st priority, however, so you do not miss your ride.

You will receive a basic map of the island with your rental to help aid you in your travels. This will include a brief overview on main local areas of interest as well as current road conditions. Please be aware, weather may cause trail closures dependent on recent storm activity. *OFF LIMITS* Please note, these vehicles are not permitted to be taken on the Lana’i Hale (Munro Trail) or beyond Garden of the Gods (Polihua Beach) at any time, regardless of weather. Vehicles are GPS equipped, and fines may be incurred if vehicle is taken to prohibited area(s).

In order to sign out your reserved vehicle, you will need a VALID DRIVER LICENSE, CASH, MAJOR CREDIT CARD, and PROOF OF CURRENT INSURANCE. A valid credit card must be presented and placed on file at the time of rental in order to depart with vehicle. You will be asked to sign a Rental Record where you will inspect the vehicle and a Terms of Agreement form which serves as a waiver of liability, standard to the industry. This generally takes about 15 minutes.

Lanai City, HI 96763.  You will drop your rental vehicle in the parking area outside of the store.

Also, all rentals are required to be filled with fuel upon return. Please do so before dropping vehicle off at pick up/drop off location. Lana'i City Service gas station is located on Lana'i Ave & 11th St. The price of gas is approximately $6.50 per gallon and the station is open until 10pm daily. **After swiping your card and pulling the nozzle off of the rack, you must push the green button below the LCD to activate the flow of gas.**
